Chevy Cruze Diesel Expected Price

The turbo-diesel is expected to hold a suggested retail price of $24,670 without any options and standard 6-speed manual

Automatic will add $1,600 bringing the total to $26,720 base

Leather package $1,125 bringing the 6spd to $25,795 and auto $27,395

If you fully spec it out, it'll come up to $29,950. Now this is presuming that destination charges haven't been applied either along with tax, and all the other added fees.

If I don't end up getting a year end model clear out Cruze sedan then I might go this route. The ability to shave a lot off the MSRP as much as year end model let you is attractive. Only downside is its the first model year.

$24,670 sounds like a great price, but that's not including the automatic transmission which is something a lot of buyers would want, including me. $26,720 for the 1.6-liter turbodiesel engine seems to bit too expensive for what it is. Maybe if it was at a year end sale.

How much do you think we could get off of MSRP during a year end sale ?

Just an update on the Cruze Diesel Hatch.

Says that they're aiming for a 50mpg rating from the EPA as they're trying to surpass the TDI. Should be set to be in showrooms by Spring.

Now that's quite impressive. If they can put that powerplant or something similar in a smaller Chevy then it could mean one of the most fuel efficient vehicles. The Scion iA is a good example of this, although it runs a gasoline engine, but that too is very efficient... Scion iA MPG - Actual MPG from 26 Scion iA owners

If they put that power plant in something lighter, that 50mpg is definitely raising quite a bit. 50MPG as it is, impressive to say the least in my opinion. Anyone know how big the tank is ??

50 liters last I checked which is about right for any vehicle in this concept. But to get the best MPG's, doing little things like maintaining 1/2 to 1/4 tank will set you up for better gains. Liquid weight is heavy.

Never thought to do that with fuel, mostly due to a fear of being stranded without fuel. I don't think it matter for most people to try and squeeze every bit of fuel economy out of the Chevy Cruze.
