17,000 Cruze Models Recalled

Chevrolet is recalling 17,197 Cruze models from 2016-2017 for seat problems.
According to CNET the problem is from the front head restraint. The bracket in the recliner mechanism may not have been welded properly and if an accident were to occur, it could detach.

That's not too big of a problem, but you may as well being it in to the dealership and have it fixed for free. There are worse things to get recalled for and that's considerably mild, won't deter people from getting the Cruze.

This really isn't bad at all and nothing to be concerned about. It's not like it's a fuel leak that can combust or something close to that. It is something that should be looked at but nothing to worry about.

Thanks for posting though, so if anyone has one on here at least they'll be informed. It's a good thing that they picked up on it so they could remedy the situation right away.

You would be surprised to find out how many people don't know about recalls or aren't well informed about it from their dealer. Often dealers send you a letter, some people don't even check their mail often enough.

At least with vehicles becoming more connected, in the future we're likely to see recalls posted to our infotainment screens.

That's true. It's also a problem. It's one thing if people don't stay informed or ignore dealer mail and all of that and get into a situation where they hurt themselves, but there are certain recalls that are pretty important. Failing to tend to it could result in you hurting or harming someone else on the road. That's the issue

Yea... anyhow, it's not a crazy recall and all is well. I like to stay up to date and always check up with the dealer once in a while to make sure there's nothing out that I didn't know about.
